Jake began his journey into the insurance world in 2019, working for a State Farm Agency. Since that day he has representative numerous companies and knows the ins and outs of a large portion of the companies that sell policies to the residents in Michigan. He has a keen eye for being able to assess your situation with your current company, he can quickly diagnose coverage concerns, and quickly identify solutions that fit your needs and your budget.
Jake grew up in Southwest Louisiana and joined the United States Air Force after graduating from Sulphur High School. In the Air Force, he was a crew chief on F-16 Fighter Jets. After finishing his term with the Air Force, Jake moved back home where he enrolled in classes at McNeese State University with intentions of getting his degree in Health & Human Performance, with goals of becoming a High School Football Coach. During college, Jake began his journey as a football coach working with elementary school aged kids and teaching them the game, where he became extremely passionate about the position and the effects it makes on our youth. Jake moved to Michigan in 2015, he met his wife Angela a few weeks later. After a short break from coaching he took a position as a 7th grade head football coach at a local school which led to him realizing his dream of becoming the Junior Varsity Head Football Coach at Eaton Rapids High School from 2020-2022. Jake and Angie got married in 2021 despite the COVID pandemic and the following year introduced their son Beaux into the world. Although he isn't coaching anymore he still has much love for the game of football and helping the local youth, Wilkinson Family Insurance Agency has made multiple generous donations to different local high school athletics programs in the past and plans to keep doing so in the future in an effort to allow the kids who will become the future leaders of our world the opportunity to continue to play the sport they love, and learn the valuable lessons like teamwork, responsibility, and leadership that the game teaches. When he isn't working with clients he enjoys spending time with his family & friends, traveling, and golfing. Every Saturday and Sunday you can find him at his house dressed in purple and gold or blue and white cheering on his beloved LSU Tigers and Indianapolis Colts.
His passion for the game of football & the development of our youth, the love he has for his family, and the values he upholds while helping his Michigan neighbors with their insurance needs, are the primary reasons why Wilkinson Family Insurance Agency was created.
If you want an agent that has your back, gives back to the community, and brings his values & integrity with them everywhere they go, you can trust that Wilkinson Family Insurance Agency is the right choice to help protect you and your family or business from the risks of every day life. PLPD is a commonly used term for liability insurance. When an accident occurs PLPD will protect you form liability claims up to your coverage limits, in the event you were sued because of the accident. It does not protect your vehicle from the damage incurred during the accident. Full Coverage will give you additional coverages in the way of Comprehensive and Collision coverages. These coverages are what allow you protect your vehicle from damages or a total loss due to a claim. If you have a loan on your vehicle you almost always are required by your lender to have full coverage so they can ensure your's & their's combined investment is protected, however, just because your vehicle is paid off doesn't necessarily mean it is smart to not carry full coverage on the vehicle. Give us a call today and let us evaluate your situation, if full coverage makes sense for you and your vehicle we'll show you how to get/stay fully protected while keeping the cost as low as possible!
When looking at your homeowners insurance policy, the coverage labelled Dwelling is not meant to pay off your mortgage or buy your house from you. This is the maximum amount of coverage that you have to protect you from a total loss that stems from a fire, natural disaster, and many other things. This is the amount you'll have available in order to rebuild your home. With the spike Michigan and the rest of the world has seen on building materials, labor, tools, and everything else, the cost to rebuild your home from the ground up is likely significantly more expensive then what you could sell the home for today, despite the high value of homes in today's market. Give us a call today to get a full evaluation of your home to verify that you are fully covered from whatever life may throw at you...or your home!
Life can throw many things your way each day, and unfortunately one of those things is the risk of death. People have their varying beliefs of the afterlife, but one thing that we know for sure is that death is almost always, untimely and it is always final. Once it happens our family and loved one's lives will change forever. Some handle it better than others, however, finances are almost always effected by death for the family members of the person who has passed. Life insurance is there for to assist the family in these difficult times with bills, debt, and final expenses. With inflation happening everyday, interest rates increasing, and everything else that effects our economy, life insurance can assist and make your families life a little less difficult after your gone. It's our belief that everyone regardless of your financial situation should have at least some life insurance in order to at the very least, buy your family some time, whether that is time off of work, time to grieve, time to recover, or time to figure out what they will do without you moving forward. Although this is a difficult thing to think about, we have conversations like this every single day with people. Don't wait until it's too late, we'd be happy to discuss your unique financial situation and help you form a plan to put your family in a better position when this unfortunate time occurs.
